Craig Sherman
General Partner at Meritech Capital
Craig joined Meritech in 2011 and invests in consumer and healthcare.
Craig's Meritech and personal investments include Roblox (IPO), 10x Genomics (IPO), Zillow (IPO), SurveyMonkey (IPO→acquired), Zipcar (acquired), Zulily (IPO→acquired), GoFundMe, Toss, Niantic, Wealthsimple, Lynda.com (acquired), Ancestry.com (IPO→acquired), RayzeBio (IPO→acquired) and others.
Before joining Meritech, Craig was an entrepreneur and independent board member (8 boards). Craig was the COO at Ancestry.com, where the team grew revenue from less than $10M to over $150M and cash flow from tens of millions of annual losses to tens of millions in annual profits. He was the CEO of Cendant Japan and GaiaOnline - both of which reached $20M in sales and profitability in less than 3 years. Craig was also an EIR at Benchmark Capital and did a short stint as a senior exec at AIG.
Craig is interested in life science and healthcare companies that literally change ordinary patients' lives and consumer businesses that foster human creativity, connection and well being or make people safer. What Craig loves most about being an investor is becoming friends with founders and their management team and leveraging his operating experience and love of people-management to be a trusted sounding board - if (and only if) asked.
Craig spends his free time with his wife, Sumi, son, Kaz, and daughter, Kaya. He enjoys hiking, meditating and reading classic novels.
